Terms of Service

By accessing or using VeraLease (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

VeraLease is an online marketplace that connects individuals who wish to exit their vehicle lease early (“Sellers”) with individuals who wish to assume an existing lease (“Buyers”). VeraLease is a technology platform only.

VeraLease is not a lease broker, financial institution, lender, or party to any lease transfer. All lease transfer paperwork and financial arrangements are handled directly between users and the original leasing company. VeraLease has no involvement in, and assumes no liability for, any lease transfer transaction.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use VeraLease. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under applicable Canadian law.

You must create an account to post listings or contact sellers. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to update it as necessary. VeraLease reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

By posting a listing on VeraLease, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the current leaseholder of the vehicle or are expressly authorized to list it.
• All information provided — including vehicle details, VIN, monthly payment, mileage, lease terms, and photos — is accurate and not misleading.
• The lease is eligible for transfer under the terms of your leasing agreement.
• You will promptly remove or update a listing if the vehicle is no longer available or if any information changes.

VeraLease uses public VIN data from the NHTSA to pre-fill vehicle details. You are responsible for confirming the accuracy of all pre-filled information before publishing a listing.

You agree not to:

• Post false, fraudulent, or misleading listings.
• Impersonate any person or entity.
• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform without prior written consent.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform or its servers.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform.
• Use the Platform to collect personal information about other users without their consent.

The VeraLease name, logo, and all Platform content created by VeraLease are the property of VeraLease and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our prior written consent.

By posting content (including photos, descriptions, and other listing materials) on the Platform, you grant VeraLease a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.

The Platform integrates with third-party services including Google, Apple, and Facebook (for authentication) and NHTSA (for VIN decoding). Use of these services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. VeraLease is not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

VeraLease does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. VeraLease does not verify the accuracy of any listing beyond what is stated in these Terms.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VERALEASE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSSES ARISING FROM A LEASE TRANSFER, INACCURATE LISTING INFORMATION, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS THE PLATFORM.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VeraLease and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Platform, your listings, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

VeraLease reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
